In my junior year, our young group of mechanical engineering wanna-be's designed a mobile fuel-alcohol distillery system as part of a competition in California. Our idea captured first place in the design portion of the competition.

During my senior year, I researched, designed, and calculated a feasibility study for constructing a solar lamp using solar photovoltaic cells.

Just those two alternative energy disciplines alone, hooked me on the renewable energy technology.
